Closing Day!!

Thursday September 2, 2010 @ 11:30 PM at Meredith Village Savings Bank.

Bill & Christine will be home owners on Lake Winnipesaukee today! The entire family is THRILLED!!!

Bill drove up in a company pickup so that they would have the truck at Cattle Landing. Christine took the kids up and came as well. Everyone is beyond excited! There is a heat wave that is expected to end tonight and Hurricane Earl is coming in Friday afternoon. The rest of the weekend looks cool. At least they will get one last hot summer day in the their new home!

Thursday Is The Day!

After issues with the deed, title, probate court and a few people who moved slower than mollasses, The French's are closing Thursday September 2, 2010. This is 30 days from the date the offer was made. We are thrilled!

Sellers Attorney's Couldn't Be Slower

Just got an email from the closing attorney - they are asking us to close Friday.
Billy is going to have a meltdown if this does not go through on Wednesday. We are in the middle of a heat wave, I really hope this goes through. I just emailed them back that our family arrangements, barges, work rescheduling has all been done and we are looking to close Wednesday. Are these people serious? How about staying a little late and getting it done? I will drive the god damn documents from Cambridge to Meredith myself if we have to - this is out of control!

Waiting To Confirm Closing Time

The Attorney's office is really dragging there feet. There is a clear distinction between how people get things done in Massachusetts versus how people get things done in New Hampshire...SPEED IT UP PEOPLE!

This past weekend was one of the best of the entire summer, what a waste - Billy & Christine could have been in the house. John Goodhue is all done, Jessica is all done - we're just waiting for the Title from the sellers in Cambridge and then requesting the HUD Statement and we are ready to go. A heatwave is coming into town so the sooner the better!!

Last visit before its theirs!

After one of the best days of the summer, which included a lunch trip to Wolfboro we stopped by Bear Island. Bill was very anxious and did not want anyone in the house because he felt the seller's were trying to get out of selling it and did not want to give anyone a reason not to sell. While this was not true, we spent a few minutes enjoying a hot August afternoon at the soon to be new home!

Everyone was excited to see "Weekend At Burnsey's"

Danielle & Cameron picked blueberries as part of our scavenger hunt!

William did not want to get out of the water at 'his' house!

Clear To Close....But Not Closing Yet

We have been very close to celebrating the closing on this house and have tentatively been planning to do so this Friday the 27th. The good news is the loan is all set and received final approval and is in "Clear To Close Status"...bad news is no one else is ready. The Estate needs all three members to sign off. We are wondering why this hasn't been done.

We are making a final attempt to request entry to the property for the weekend. We are axiously waiting to hear back.

Still Waiting On The Clear To Close

We are cutting it very close if we are going to be able to close on Friday.
Meredith Village Savings Bank suddenly asked for a huge money trail. All documentation was pulled together this morning. Plumbing is being finished today, inspection this afternoon.

Please let us close!

Electricity Is On! Plumber Enroute! Inspection Scheduled!

As we write this the final package is with the underwriter and we anxiously await the words "Clear To Close".

John Goodhue has literally jumped through hoops to get Bill & Christine in their new home. From driving plumbers and inspectors several times to the islands [the estate did not pay the electric bill and getting the power turned on was a daunting task.] John has been generous with his time and really gone the extra mile to make this deal work!

The power was finally turned on today! We immediately rescheduled the inspector who also has worked with us and he will be there tomorrow afternoon. After the plunber ofcourse. Because now that the power is turned on the plumber can fix the rest of the plumbing! Jeez, can't wait for pen to paper and get this deal signed. Everyone is very excited!

Barge Cancelled

Christine had to cancel the barge that was scheduled to come to the house. Perhaps we have been agressive with this closing date but you cannot fault anyone for planning ahead and beyond that no one told us the sellers were slower than shit.

New Closing Date?

If the appraisal & inspection go as scheduled Bill & Christine may be closing this coming weekend! Very exciting. We are waiting for Sue Ross to call us back.

Officially Under Contract

August 12, 2010

We wondered when we were scheduling the P & S. John Goodhue the realtor informed us that in the State of NH when the written offer is formally accepted you are legally under agreeement. In short, the P & S has already been signed!

June Financials

June financials are making this refinance a bit more difficult than anticipated.

4.5%!

August 11, 2010

Bill locked into his rate with lender Sue Ross of Meredith Village Savings Bank at 4.5%. Wow! And he wants Christine to apply for an even lower rate. I think it is as low as it is going to go. Meredith Village Savings Bank is great because they know and acknowledge the value of lake property. Some lenders would see an island property as less valuable but not MVSB and the rate is reflective of this.

Loan Is Approved!

August 10, 2010

After completing the online application Bill & Christine's home loan was approved!
This is great progress!

Christine has been in Maine so Bill & Jess met at Lisa & Kell's for a Champange Celebration. It was brief, but there was a toast to celebrate this great news.

Resigning Offer Letter

John Goodhue came back to the house so we could redue the offer letter. This is really happening!

Second Trip Back To The House

After the offer was made everyone went back to the house again.
We walked around out back, walked the property line and Jess swam.

"Perhaps we can build more lots on this place..."

We stacked rocks for "Good Luck"

And the Mount Washington Drove By....it was awesome.

Offer Is Made On 304 Bear Island

August 1 , 2010
After a wonderful lunch in Alton Bay, NH. Bill, Jr. Lisa, Kell, Jessica & The Kelley kids made the track back to Meredith. While we were on the way home we drove by Bear Island. Over the course of the last few months we all have been aware that this property was for sale. We even drove up to the property but Billy did not want to get out and look around. [After our Timber Island experience maybe getting out of the boat on other people's property hasn't been such a good idea!]

We got out, looked around, spoke to the neighbors and called the realtor and said he wanted to make an offer. The only major person missing was Christine!!! But she got the call from Billy.

Anyways, the offer was sent to the sellers on the anniversary of Nana's death. Lisa put it best. Nana raised her family on the lake with the view of Gunstock. And the fact the offer went in on that date was in a way special.

Lisa at the end of the dock calling the realtor while everyone looks around.

Billy realizing he'd better call his wife! Calling Christine!
